Triathlon for Hope (All Female), Saturday, August 18, 8am - 11am, Alum Creek State Park - This is the 7th annual all-female triathlon designed to raise awareness about early detection of breast cancer, research into eradicating the disease, recognizing the survivors and those living with breast cancer, and remembering those who have been lost to this terrible disease. The proceeds from the event are donated to local breast cancer organizations to fund breast cancer research and awareness activities. The past six years, the event has contributed several thousand dollars to local breast cancer charitable organizations through your participation in this triathlon. LEARN MORE

Music Under the Paper Moon, Saturday, August 18, 6:30pm - 8:30pm, Gallant Farm Park, Preservation Park - In the 1930’s, one could pose with their special someone on a “paper moon hanging over a cardboard sea” at a carnival or fair for a nickel. One can visit any or all of the five different stops along a 32-mile route through Delaware County. Along the way, you'll learn about agriculture and the variety of local businesses that help make farming a prosperous industry in the county. Senior Showcase: Art After 55, August 24 - October 12, Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Delaware County District Library (Main Branch): Senior Showcase Exhibit will be on display during Arts Castle hours - In 2016, the Delaware County District Library paired up with several organizations in the county that support the arts and support senior services. The result of this collaboration was the county’s first-ever juried art exhibit and competition specifically for individuals ages 55 and older. It was called the Senior Showcase: Art After 55.   This year, we are proud to announce that through a partnership between DCDL, Willow Brook Christian Communities, and The Arts Castle, the second Senior Showcase will debut this fall! Nature Explorers: Fall, Thursday, September 27, 1pm - 4pm, Stratford Ecological Center - Does your child love playing outdoors and learning through exploration? This program will immerse participants in a world of hands-on learning, guided by their own curiosity, imagination, and the joy of discovery. Stratford, with its farm animals, fields, and gardens surrounded by beautiful meadows and forest, provides a perfect backdrop for exploration. Children will have hands-on interactions with animals, help tend and harvest from the garden, and let their imaginations guide them through the surrounding meadows, creek, and forest. Through meaningful interactions with each other and the natural world, they may begin to develop an understanding of how interconnected our world is, and the value of caring for our natural world and each other. Every weekly meeting (with the possible exception of unsafe weather) will include outdoor play, so please dress your child accordingly in clothing that can get dirty and won’t restrict movement. Limited Spots.  Fee: $240 per child for series, with 2:8 adult to child ratio.

Hike Ohio! - Novices of the outdoors - This group is for anyone who likes to hike and walk on nature trails, backpacking trails and just about anywhere in the great outdoors. The ReStore will be shifting its hours beginning Oct 1st. Open Tuesday - Saturday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Habitat ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers whose proceeds are used to build homes, communities and hope locally and around the world, helping to create a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
