Delaware County Fairgrounds
The Delaware County Fair has a long tradition of not only providing an enjoyable place for people to exchange ideas, demonstrate skills and exhibit products, but is also a great source for recreation, entertainment, visiting and learning. The Delaware County Fair hosts many outstanding events including five days of the best in harness racing capped off by the prestigious Little Brown Jug on Thursday as well as displays from 100’s of exhibitors and a full schedule of motor sports events in the motor sports complex ranging from demolition derbies to rough truck competitions. The Delaware County fair is a tradition and an event that you certainly don’t want to miss!

Hustle Hike with a Ranger

Highbanks Metro Park
Take a speed hike with a Highbanks Ranger. Hike will be approximately 3 miles on crushed gravel trails. Hike will be fast-paced with few stops. Ages 18+.
Meeting Location Notes: Highbanks Nature Center is the first right after entering the park. There is limited parking in the Nature Center lot on busy days. Additional parking is available in the Oak Coves Picnic Area, a 10 minute walk from the Nature Center. Follow the paved trail through Oak Coves toward the Nature Center.

MacroFest (Family Creeking)

Highbanks Big Meadows Picnic Area
Join Friends of the Lower Olentangy Watershed (FLOW) and Highbanks naturalists to explore the Olentangy River. Discover insects that live in the river and why the animals are important. Be prepared to get wet. Shoes required in the river for your safety. Limited supply of nets. All ages. Meet in Big Meadows.
Additional notes: All animals will be released back into the river at the end of the program. Don't forget a towel and complete a change of clothes to dry off after the program.
Meeting location notes: Big Meadows Picnic Area. This meeting location is located in the back of the park. After you enter the park, take the main road down the hill. At the bottom of the hill, a sign will be on the right side saying "Big Meadows picnic area". After the sign, take the ROAD on the LEFT. Park in the first lot on the left. Meet near the restrooms/bulletin board/playground area.

Highbanks Metro Park
Highbanks’ BIGGEST Event of the YEAR! Join us from 5:00-7:30 pm for a fun family event to celebrate the first days of fall! Enjoy hayrides, inflatables, campfires & marshmallows, archery, and other outdoor activities. Don’t forget to bring your picnic dinner and enjoy all the fun activities. Archery and hayrides will start closing down at 7:00 pm due to fading light conditions. Be sure to stay for the 7:45 pm outdoor movie “Zootopia 2 (2025) (rated PG).” The movie starts at dark (approx 7:45 pm). Don’t forget to bring a blanket or chairs for outdoor seating to watch the movie. All ages. Entire event is FREE! Meeting location notes: Highbanks Metro Park-Big Meadows Picnic Area. This meeting location is located near the back of the park. After you enter the park, take the main road down the hill. At the bottom of the hill, a sign on the right will indicate the “Big Meadows Picnic Area.” Follow parking signs for the event.

Featuring a scenic course through the township, custom race medals, and a supportive atmosphere, the 4-Miler is more than just a race—it’s a tribute to courage, sacrifice, and community spirit. Hike Ohio! - Novices of the outdoors - Join over 15,000 members who like to hike and walk on nature trails, backpacking trails and just about anywhere in the great outdoors. All those who are dedicated to hiking excursions in Ohio, with a focus on leaving no trace of litter on our lands can join us! We will get together for evening hikes on metro parks trails, gather for day hikes in the Ohio State park and forest system and maybe even do overnight trips if anyone is interested.
