Heroes Not Forgotten 5K 
Fundraiser to Honor our Veterans 

Join us November 11th for the Orange Township 2nd annual Heroes Not Forgotten 5k run/walk. This is an exciting event dedicated to honor veterans.

Hike Ohio! - Novices of the outdoors  

All those who are dedicated to hiking excursions in Ohio, with a focus on leaving no trace of litter on our lands can join us! We will get together for evening hikes on metro parks trails, gather for day hikes in the Ohio State park and forest system

Into the Ice Age, Now thru Oct 31st, Shale Hollow Park

Welcome to the world of woolly mammoths, mastodons and saber-toothed cats! The Ice Age comes to Preservation Parks with amazing exhibits and activities. All activities are free; the Ice Age exhibits will be open through Oct. 31. WED-SAT: 11 a.m.- 7 p.m.; SUN: Noon-5 p.m.

Alum Creek Dog Park Meet & Clean June 2017, Sat, June 24, 10am - 12pm, Alum Creek Park 

Do you love Alum Creek Dog Park? If so, come help the Friends of Alum Creek Dog Park volunteers group on Saturday, June 24th by volunteering to keep our favorite dog park clean and safe.

Father's Day Ride In' (customer appreciation event), Sat, June 24, 10am - 4pm, Motorcycle Maxx

Free food, balloons, live music,(purchase a motorcycle and receive free care package for your ride, fathers only).

Miles for Smiles, Sat, June 24th, 8am, North Orange Park

The fourth annual “Miles for Smiles 5K Run/Walk,” presented by North Orange Family Dentistry, will be held at North Orange Park in Lewis Center. The proceeds from the race will benefit the Free to Smile Foundation.

July 4: Orange Parade has new route for 2017

July 4th, 10AM. Parade starts at Orange High School and will go down Walker Wood Blvd ending at Walker Wood Park (new route because of road construction on Old State Rd). More information and to enter parade is coming.  Check back for details.

Showcase your talent by entering this competition, brought to you by Taranto's Pizzeria.  Your submission can be  an Italian themed mural, an object, or a painting. Alum Creek State Park Fall Fest, October 6th & 7th, Alum Creek State Park - You are invited to join us at Alum Creek State Park for are annual fall fest activities. We will be having a scavenger hunt, night hikes, seasonal movies at our amphitheater and

Hike Ohio! - Novices of the outdoors - This group is for anyone who likes to hike and walk on nature trails, backpacking trails and just about anywhere in the great outdoors. All those who are dedicated to hiking excursions in Ohio, with a focus on leaving no trace of litter on our lands can join us! We will get together for evening hikes on metro parks trails, gather for day hikes in the Ohio State park and forest system and maybe even do overnight trips if anyone is interested. Lace up your hikers and hit the trail with us! And don't forget to check out the Polls section to vote on when/where to go on the next hike. Summer Reading Club 2017

The Delaware County District Library (DCDL) is encouraging kids of all ages to build their brains and the world around them this summer with theme “Dream It. Read It Build It.” during the 2017 Summer Reading Club. The ten-week program gives kids from birth through age 18 an opportunity to track their reading for prizes and attend fun programs at the Library.  Click below to learn more:

DCDL AWARDS STAFF FAVORITES FOR STUDENT ART

County Students Participated in Library Art Show in Conjunction with Delaware Arts Festival

 The Delaware County District Library (DCDL) and Delaware County school systems collaborated again this year for the annual student art showcase at the Delaware Main Library. The showcase was held in conjunction with the Delaware Arts Festival, which took place May 20 - 21. 


The DCDL staff awarded First Place and a cash prize to Autumn Barr from Olentangy High School for her self portrait. Gabbi Frabotta from Olentangy Liberty High School received Second Place and a cash prize for her painting. Third Place and a cash prize went to Olentangy Orange High School student Miranda Edgar for her octopus sculpture. 


The high school students’ work was also judged by a panel from the Delaware Arts Festival on Saturday, May 20.

Heroes Not Forgotten 5K 
Fundraiser to Honor our Veterans

Join us November 11th for the Orange Township 2nd annual Heroes Not Forgotten 5k run/walk. This is an exciting event dedicated to honor veterans.

The money raised for this event will go towards the planned Orange Township Veterans Memorial that will be erected on the corner of Orange Rd and South Old State behind the old Town Hall.

Flag Teams and Call to Veterans

We are looking for teams of a minimum of 5 to carry a flag during the run (walk distance does not apply). Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, and POW MIA.

If you’re a veteran or family member of a veteran and just want to cheer the runners along, please join us.

Donations

If you are unable to attend the run and would like to donate, you may in any increment you would like with the following options. Donate on the registration site or through the Delaware County Foundation (click on the “Click to Give” button, then scroll down to select Orange Township Veterans Memorial.)  A special fund has been established with the Delaware County Foundation, a non-profit community foundation that will manage all donations.   You may also send a check, payable to the Delaware County Foundation: EIN #31-1450786. Please note Orange Township Veterans Memorial in the memo line of the check. Gifts should be mailed to Delaware County Foundation, 3954 N. Hampton Dr. Powell, OH 43065.

Veterans Memorial

The goal is to make the memorial unique with local input. The memorial itself was designed by a former Olentangy Orange High School Student, Amelia Dewey. Matt Croghar and Kyle Benecke, also local Olentangy Orange High School Students, came up with the theme “Heroes Not Forgotten.”

2017 Season Pass

2017 season begins Wednesday, May 24, 2017

2017 Online Season Pass Application Orange Township reserves the right to revoke applications submitted with incorrect or falsified information. There will be a convenience fee for on-line applications. Applications received on-line will be processed the next business day.  APPLY ONLINE

Download the 2017 Aquatic Center Season Pass Application and take or mail to the Township Hall. Please remember, when mailing your Pool Pass Application to include proof of residency and your check made out to Orange Township. Seniors - please include a copy of your Golden Buckeye Card. SWIM LESSONS 2017 SEASON


On-line swim lesson registration will begin Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at 9:30 AM. On-line registration will be available until May 22 to Orange Township residents only. Beginning May 24, 2017 resident and non-resident sign ups can be completed at the front desk of the North Orange Aquatic Center for any remaining classes. A convenience fee applies for on-line registration payments.

Learn to swim at the pool is designed to focus on the fundamentals of swimming, water safety and fun. Children must be at least 4 years old by the first day of class to register for lessons. Classes must have a minimum of 3 students registered to hold the class. Classes are thirty (30) minutes offered Monday through Thursday for a two (2) week period. If a day is cancelled, the Friday of that week will be used as a make-up day. Lessons will only be cancelled due to lightning or thunder.

POOL INFORMATION AND DEFINITIONS

RESIDENT: You pay Orange Township Park Levy and you’re in tax district 27, 46 or 58. You can visit Delaware County Auditor to verify your tax district.

CHILDREN 2 AND UNDER: (Birth dates must be after September 4th, 2014), ARE FREE, but must be listed on the application. Do not count when choosing the pass category and fee.

DEFINITION OF FAMILY: Family Pass Admits up to two named Parents in the same household and all dependent aged children (under the age of 23). Parents must be residents of Orange Township.

GRANDPARENT PASS: Admits up to two named Grandparents in the same household and all dependent aged grandchildren (under the age of 23). Grandparents must be residents of Orange Township. Select the correct corresponding Family pass category.

YOUTH: Children 12 and under will not be permitted upon the Aquatic Center grounds unless under the direct supervision of a parent or other responsible person at least 16 years of age.

BABYSITTER: One babysitter can be added to Season Pass Application as an additional person to the pass. However, all babysitters must be accompanied by the children without the parents at the pool. Babysitters may not utilize the pass individually. Babysitter must be at least 16 years of age.

SENIOR: Please include a copy of your Golden Buckeye Card with application.

The Orange Township Veterans Memorial

The Orange Township Veterans Memorial is moving forward. There will be several ways that individuals and families, clubs, organizations and businesses can donate to help make it a reality! The memorial's cost will be paid for through donations, not township funds. Help recognize and celebrate those who have served our country! 

2017 Aquatic Center Season Pass Application Available! 

Download the 2017 Aquatic Center Season Pass Application.  Orange Township resident only (see online application form for exceptions & guidelines.) North Orange Park Aquatic Center will open for the 2017 season Wednesday, May 24, and close September 4, 2017 (Labor Day). Hours typically 11am - 8:00pm, 7 days a week, but may vary on special occasions. Contact pool for details. Ph: 740-657-8881 (answered during pool hours only.)

New Fall & Winter Hours!

The ReStore will be shifting its hours beginning Oct 1st. Open Tuesday - Saturday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Habitat ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers whose proceeds are used to build homes, communities and hope locally and around the world, helping to create a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Every Wed - 15% Military Discount with ID; Every Thurs - 15% Senior Discount, 60+ with ID.
