Stratford Photography Club, Thursday, August 16, Stratford Ecological Center - Calling all photography enthusiasts to become members of our photography club. Monthly meetings will provide an opportunity to share photos and knowledge, learn techniques from local experts, and photograph landscapes, animals, gardens and more. All skill levels welcome! Triathlon for Hope (All Female), Saturday, August 18, 8am - 11am, Alum Creek State Park - This is the 7th annual all-female triathlon designed to raise awareness about early detection of breast cancer, research into eradicating the disease, recognizing the survivors and those living with breast cancer, and remembering those who have been lost to this terrible disease. The proceeds from the event are donated to local breast cancer organizations to fund breast cancer research and awareness activities. The past six years, the event has contributed several thousand dollars to local breast cancer charitable organizations through your participation in this triathlon. LEARN MORE


Music Under the Paper Moon, Saturday, August 18, 6:30pm - 8:30pm, Gallant Farm Park, Preservation Park - In the 1930’s, one could pose with their special someone on a “paper moon hanging over a cardboard sea” at a carnival or fair for a nickel. Delaware Farm Tour, Saturday, August 18, 12:30pm - 4:30pm, Delaware County - Spend a day in the country that's both fun and educational for your family. One can visit any or all of the five different stops along a 32-mile route through Delaware County. Along the way, you'll learn about agriculture and the variety of local businesses that help make farming a prosperous industry in the county. Paint Your Pet, Sunday, August 19, 12pm - 2pm, Taranto's Pizzeria - Paint your favorite furry friend at Taranto's Pizzeria in the heart of Lewis Center!  $35 includes canvas, template creation, brushes, paint and all other supplies! Senior Showcase: Art After 55, August 24 - October 12, Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Delaware County District Library (Main Branch): Senior Showcase Exhibit will be on display during Arts Castle hours - In 2016, the Delaware County District Library paired up with several organizations in the county that support the arts and support senior services. The result of this collaboration was the county’s first-ever juried art exhibit and competition specifically for individuals ages 55 and older. It was called the Senior Showcase: Art After 55.   This year, we are proud to announce that through a partnership between DCDL, Willow Brook Christian Communities, and The Arts Castle, the second Senior Showcase will debut this fall! Two birding enthusiasts try to defeat the cutthroat world record holder in a year-long bird-spotting competition. Nature Explorers: Fall, Thursday, September 27, 1pm - 4pm, Stratford Ecological Center - Does your child love playing outdoors and learning through exploration? This program will immerse participants in a world of hands-on learning, guided by their own curiosity, imagination, and the joy of discovery. Stratford, with its farm animals, fields, and gardens surrounded by beautiful meadows and forest, provides a perfect backdrop for exploration. Children will have hands-on interactions with animals, help tend and harvest from the garden, and let their imaginations guide them through the surrounding meadows, creek, and forest. Through meaningful interactions with each other and the natural world, they may begin to develop an understanding of how interconnected our world is, and the value of caring for our natural world and each other. Every weekly meeting (with the possible exception of unsafe weather) will include outdoor play, so please dress your child accordingly in clothing that can get dirty and won’t restrict movement. Limited Spots.  Fee: $240 per child for series, with 2:8 adult to child ratio.

Communities are not required to follow the recommended Trick or Treat schedule as approved by MORPC and may hold their Trick or Treat on a different schedule; however, Orange Township has adopted to follow the schedule set forth by MORPC including holding the event rain or shine.  READ MORE

Hike Ohio! - Novices of the outdoors - This group is for anyone who likes to hike and walk on nature trails, backpacking trails and just about anywhere in the great outdoors. All those who are dedicated to hiking excursions in Ohio, with a focus on leaving no trace of litter on our lands can join us! We will get together for evening hikes on metro parks trails, gather for day hikes in the Ohio State park and forest system and maybe even do overnight trips if anyone is interested. The Orange Township Veterans Memorial is moving forward. There will be several ways that individuals and families, clubs, organizations and businesses can donate to help make it a reality! The memorial's cost will be paid for through donations, not township funds. Help recognize and celebrate those who have served our country!

The ReStore will be shifting its hours beginning Oct 1st. Open Tuesday - Saturday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Habitat ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers whose proceeds are used to build homes, communities and hope locally and around the world, helping to create a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Every Wed - 15% Military Discount with ID; Every Thurs - 15% Senior Discount, 60+ with ID.
