Orange Township Outreach and Communications Committee - The Orange Township Outreach and Communications Committee (OTOCC) is seeking new volunteer members to serve in an advisory role to the Board of Township Trustees.  OTOCC members need to be Elector Residents in the unincorporated portion of Orange Township.   If you have an interest in Business Development, Communications, Events, Parks and/or expanding the overall presence and awareness of Orange Township, this may be a great opportunity for you.  Please email a Letter of Interest and Resume to mboni@orangetwp.org. Make A Difference, Together - The Delaware County Volunteer Center has many opportunities just waiting for you. Founded in 1996, Connections coordinates the referral and placement of volunteers for more than 70 different agencies who offer hundreds of ongoing and special event opportunities. In the past year, Connections matched 1,381 individual volunteers who engaged in over 19,750 hours of service to the community. A program of HelpLine of Delaware and Morrow Counties, Inc., Connections core services are funded by SourcePoint and United Way of Delaware County. Blood Donor Ambassador - Lewis Center. Blood Donor Ambassadors provide excellent and enthusiastic customer service to enhance the blood donor experience. Engage with blood donors to promote blood donation and set the stage for a long-term commitment to regular blood donations. Responsibilites include welcome and greet donors, escort as necessary and assist with intake, Confirm donation appointment and have donor sign in using laptop, Provide donors with "That They Must Know Before Giving Blood" information to read/fill out before giving blood, Make reminder call, reschedule donor appointment and perform follow up activities as directed, Serve refreshments and talk to donors after their donation, Attend to donors in the Hospitality Area, alerting blood drive employees if a donor does not appear to be feeling well or their arm is bleeding, Make sure donor information remains confidential. Qualifications include: Customer service skills, Friendly disposition, Punctual and dependable when arriving at assignments, Ability to clearly read laptop computer screen and type donor names, as needed, and Ability to represent the American Red Cross in the community. Training is provided at no cost. The Red Cross asks that Blood Donor Ambassadors provide 10 hours of service a month. Senior Companion - Visit older adults in their own home, help them with errands, increase their socialization and independence. Senior Companion will volunteer at least 15 hours a week providing companionship to older adults. Activities can involve shopping, playing board games or simply conversation. Disaster Action Team (DAT) Member - Delaware County Become the best part of someone's worst day! Volunteer with the American Red Cross, Disaster Cycle Services Department TODAY! Disaster Action Team Members work as part of a team to provide 24-hour response to local disasters, primarily house fires, ensuring victims have basic necessities such as shelter, food and clothing. Training is provided at no cost. The Red Cross asks that Disaster Action Team Members provide 24 hours of service a month in the form of two 12-hour on call shifts. LEARN MORE
